Doris Matsui hosts art contest and community discussions

Representative Doris Matsui, serving California's 7th district, has made several announcements and reflections in her recent posts on social media. Matsui, who succeeded Bob Matsui in Congress in 2005, discussed opportunities for young artists, community engagements, and insights from a former colleague.

On March 29, Matsui invited high school artists from the Sacramento area to participate in the 2025 Congressional Art Competition. She noted, "Are you a high school artist in the Sacramento area? You can now submit your artwork into the 2025 Congressional Art Competition! Submissions are accepted from all high schoolers that live within the district. Later the same day, Matsui shared her participation in a meeting with officials from the Cosumnes Community Services District. She expressed, "It was a pleasure to join the Cosumnes Community Services District’s Interim General Manager, Fire Chief, and Senior Staff to discuss the active projects at the Service District and their general priorities for 2025. On March 30, Matsui reflected on a session with Congresswoman Anna Eshoo, highlighting Eshoo's contributions and perspectives. Matsui commented, "It was wonderful to hear my dear friend and former colleague, Congresswoman Anna Eshoo give her invaluable insight into today’s challenges and reflect on her lifetime of public service at the @MatsuiCenter at @UCBerkeley.
