Doris Matsui, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California's 7th district since 2005, has recently addressed several issues through her social media platform. Born in Poston, Arizona, in 1944 and currently residing in Sacramento, Matsui has been vocal about various policies affecting her constituents.

On March 21, 2025, Matsui expressed concern over proposed Republican budget cuts. "By threatening massive cuts to Medicaid and SNAP, Republicans are putting our children and families’ well-being at risk. These cuts aren't just numbers on a page. They are an attack on real people in our neighborhoods, like Nicole, Christina and Leeandra, who bravely stepped", she stated.

The following day, March 22, 2025, Matsui highlighted her meeting with UC Davis Provost Mary Croughan. "I met with @ucdavis Provost Mary Croughan during a critical time to protect our research institutions." She praised UC Davis as a leader in epidemiology and health care innovation while expressing concerns about the impact of policies from former President Trump and Elon Musk.

On March 23, 2025, Matsui participated in an event celebrating Women's History Month organized by Sacramento Habitat for Humanity. "It was wonderful speaking at @sachabitat’s Women Build event and to celebrate #WomenHistoryMonth!" She emphasized the importance of stable housing amidst threats to affordable housing programs.
