Rep. Doris Matsui, currently representing California's 7th District in Congress, has recently shared a series of Twitter posts concerning opportunities and concerns in public service and health policy. Matsui, who has been serving since 2005, continues to engage with her constituents and stakeholders on pressing issues facing the nation.
On March 26, 2025, Matsui announced opportunities for legislative and press and digital internships at her Capitol Hill office. She stated, " Join Us In Washington, D.C. This Summer We're looking for Legislative Interns and Press and Digital Interns to join our Capitol Hill office this summer. Congressional internships are a great way to learn more about Congress, gain professional skills, and expand your careers."
In another post on March 27, 2025, Matsui expressed her disapproval of personnel changes at several federal agencies. She wrote, "The purging of @Interior, @NOAA, and @forestservice offices across the nation is a direct attack on the dedicated public servants who work tirelessly to protect our nation’s economy and natural resources, as well the people, industries, and communities that rely on the services."
Furthermore, on March 28, 2025, Matsui highlighted her concerns over the decision-making process related to public health policies, specifically vaccines. Matsui explained, "Americans cannot afford uncertainty when it comes to life-saving vaccines. Public health decisions should be driven by science, not opinion or ideology. That’s why I joined my colleagues in requesting information from @HHSGov about their decision to bypass independent expert analysis."
