Representative Doris Matsui, serving California's 7th district in the U.S. Congress, made remarks on social media addressing several pressing issues. Rep. Matsui, who has been a member of Congress since 2005, communicated her concerns regarding environmental protection, the CHIPS Act, and a measles outbreak's impact due to vaccine hesitancy.

On April 9, 2025, Rep. Matsui criticized former President Donald Trump and EPA's senior official, Lee Zeldin, for prioritizing polluters over environmental protection. She emphasized her leadership role as the Co-Chair of the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition by leading 180 Members of Congress in demanding action from the EPA. "Instead of protecting the environment, @realDonaldTrump and @epaleezeldin are protecting the special interests of big polluters at the cost of our clean air and water."

In another statement shared on April 9, 2025, Matsui underscored the importance of the CHIPS Act, a policy she co-authored, for national security and technological leadership. She expressed dissatisfaction with former President Trump's threat to abandon efforts to revive semiconductor manufacturing in the United States. "As co-author of the CHIPS Act, I know how critical this policy is to strengthen our national security and technological leadership."

Later that day, Matsui addressed the consequences of vaccine hesitancy during an ongoing measles outbreak. She highlighted the longstanding evidence supporting the MMR vaccine's safety and effectiveness, countering unfounded claims linking vaccination to autism. "In the midst of a deadly measles outbreak, we are already seeing the consequences of vaccine hesitancy in Texas and beyond."
