Cost of college went up for all students at the Federico Beauty Institute

Tuition and fees rose 4.8 percent for 2018-19 at the Federico Beauty Institute, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

California students paid $17,200 to attend the private for-profit school this year – $795 more than the $16,405 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 80 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 59 students received grants or scholarships totaling $275,843 and 66 students took out student loans totaling more than $338,063.

Including all undergraduates (346), 244 students used grants or scholarships totaling $1 million, and 276 students took out $1.5 million in federal student loans.
