Rep. Doris Matsui comments on presidential funding proposal and engages with community

Doris Matsui, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 7th district since 2005, recently shared several updates via her social media platform. Matsui, who succeeded Bob Matsui in office and holds a degree from the University of California, Berkeley, has been vocal on various issues affecting her constituents.

On January 28, 2025, Rep. Doris Matsui criticized a proposal by the President of the United States to halt federal funding for essential services. She stated: ".@POTUS is pushing an illegal scheme to freeze federal funding—cutting off funding for housing, health care, and emergency services. This will hurt taxpayers and families."

The following day, January 29, 2025, she extended well-wishes to those celebrating Lunar New Year in the Sacramento region: "For those in the Sacramento region who celebrate, I wish you a joyful #LunarNewYear. This new year is the year of the snake — which represents wisdom, transformation, and leadership."

On January 30, 2025, Rep. Matsui invited constituents to participate in Constituent Office Hours: " Join us for Constituent Office Hours TODAY Today, January 30, my staff will be available in person from 9am-12pm if you need help navigating a federal agency. If you stop by, we can assist with obtaining reliable information and making inquiries on your behalf."
