Rep. Doris Matsui, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 7th district since 2005, recently shared several legislative updates and reminders via her social media account.

On November 18, Rep. Matsui announced a collaborative effort with Senator Richard Blumenthal to introduce the Public Health Funding Restoration Act. She stated, ".@SenBlumenthal and I introduced the Public Health Funding Restoration Act, a bill that would restore funding for the Prevention and Public Health Fund (PPHF) to its full amount. The PPHF is critical for supporting core public health activities."

The following day, on November 19, she expressed her pride in co-introducing another piece of legislation with Representative Gus Bilirakis aimed at advancing rare disease therapies. She tweeted, "I'm proud to introduce the Scientific EXPERT Act with @RepGusBilirakis, which will help bring the brightest minds in rare disease research and the @US_FDA together to discuss how to advance care for rare disease therapies."

On November 20, Rep. Matsui issued a reminder regarding healthcare enrollment deadlines for Californians through Covered California. She informed her constituents that "REMINDER: The open enrollment period for Californians to shop for, modify, or sign up for a new insurance plan through @CoveredCA ends January 31st!
