Senator Shannon Grove of Bakersfield, along with advocates of Senate Bill 64, is set to hold a rally in support of the legislation. The event will take place near the West Steps of the California State Capitol prior to the bill’s presentation in front of the California State Senate Education Committee.

The proposed legislation, known as the School Choice Flex Account Act, aims to transform K-12 education across California by allowing parents to select accredited schools for their children with corresponding funding following each student.

Following the rally, Senator Grove and her supporters will proceed to present SB 64 to committee members for a vote.

The event will feature several notable figures including Rocky Rhodes, Simi Valley Council Member; Kevin McNamee, Former Mayor of Thousand Oaks; Deacon John Wilson from West Angeles; Seak Smith from Mom Army; William Reusch, an educator from Los Angeles; and Lance Christensen from the California Policy Center. Various other supporters and advocates for education are also expected to attend.

The schedule for Wednesday, March 19th includes an 8:30 AM press conference near the West Steps at 10th & N Streets. This will be followed by a session beginning at 9:00 AM where Senator Grove is slated as the second presenter on the agenda.

Media outlets planning to cover this event are requested to RSVP via email at Brooke.Lackey@sen.ca.gov. A livestream of the press conference will also be available.
