Senator Shannon Grove of Bakersfield is set to host a press conference alongside human trafficking survivors and the non-profit organization Love Never Fails. The event aims to announce Senate Concurrent Resolution 10 (SCR 10), which will be up for a vote on Monday, January 27, during the Senate floor session. Senator Grove has been a dedicated advocate for human trafficking survivors and consistently introduces the resolution to recognize January as Human Trafficking Awareness Month.

The press conference will also highlight Senate Bill 1414, which was signed in 2024 and came into effect on January 1, 2025. This bill makes it a felony to solicit, agree to engage, or engage in sex with children.

The event will feature several key individuals including Senator Shannon Grove, Vanessa Russell, the Founding Executive Director of Love Never Fails, Davina Kerrelola, Sr. Program Manager at Love Never Fails, and more than a dozen human trafficking survivors.

The introduction of SCR 10 is scheduled for discussion during the Senate floor session on Monday, January 27. The press conference will begin at 1:30 PM and conclude before 2:00 PM to allow members to attend the session.

The location for this gathering is near the corner of 10th and N Streets at the California State Capitol.
