Sacramento residents are invited to participate in a series of citywide volunteer clean-up events on April 11, according to an announcement released on April 2. The events will take place from 9 a.m. to noon and are open to individuals, families, and community groups.
The initiative aims to encourage community members to help beautify local parks and waterways by picking up litter, planting, mulching, and engaging in other landscaping projects. Organizers say these activities offer residents a hands-on way to support neighborhood green spaces while preparing for upcoming Earth Day celebrations.
Sarah Kolarik, the City’s Sustainability Specialist, said: “Earth Day is a great reminder that small actions can make a big difference in our community. These volunteer events are an opportunity to connect with our neighbors and care for the parks and waterways that make Sacramento a great place to live.”
Volunteer opportunities will be available at multiple locations throughout the city. Participants are encouraged to register in advance through the Better Impact platform so staff can prepare accordingly. Minors under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
