The City of Sacramento announced on April 9 that it will host a free webinar on April 29 to help residents find and fix common household water leaks.

The event aims to help people save both water and money by teaching practical ways to detect and repair leaks in their homes. The session is scheduled from noon to 1 p.m., with registration available online.

William Granger, the City’s water conservation coordinator, said, “Many leaks are easy to miss, but they can have a big impact on both water use and utility bills. This webinar will walk residents through simple ways to identify and address leaks both inside and outside the home.”

During the webinar, staff from the City’s water conservation team will demonstrate traditional methods for checking for leaks—such as reading a water meter—and show how residents can use the City’s free online tool for tracking their own usage. The session will also include guidance on inspecting toilets, faucets, water heaters, supply lines, and other common sources of household leaks.

The initiative reflects ongoing efforts by Sacramento officials to encourage responsible water use among local households. Residents interested in participating are encouraged to register ahead of time.
