Rep. Doris Matsui, who represents California’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted her engagement with local communities in a series of posts on social media.

On May 30, 2026, Matsui shared her experience at a local event, stating, “I had a great time at the Sacramento Food Allergy Awareness Walk this morning! The food allergy community’s resilience is inspiring. Their powerful advocacy helped make my FASTER Act law, improving food labeling and helping families make safer choices every day. Two days later, on May 31, 2026, she expressed gratitude to a local congregation, “Thank you Pastor Sadler and Shiloh Baptist Church for welcoming me and allowing me to spend another Sunday with you. Matsui has represented California’s 7th District since 2005 after succeeding Bob Matsui in Congress. She was born in Poston, Arizona in 1944 and currently resides in Sacramento. Matsui graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1966.
