Doris Matsui, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 7th district since 2005, has recently shared her views and activities on social media. Born in Poston, Arizona in 1944 and currently residing in Sacramento, Matsui continues to engage with her constituents and address national issues through her platform.
On March 25, 2025, Matsui criticized the actions of President Donald Trump regarding energy policy. She stated that “President @realDonaldTrump is creating an energy crisis by blocking critical clean energy projects, freezing funding, and firing federal employees responsible for maintaining and permitting our energy infrastructure.” Her tweet highlighted concerns over the administration’s handling of clean energy initiatives.
The following day, on March 26, she announced a local initiative aimed at assisting her constituents. In a tweet she mentioned ” CONSTITUENT SERVICES TODAY Today, March 26, my staff will be holding office hours to help you navigate federal agencies.” The event was scheduled at the Elk Grove Food Bank from 9 am to 12 pm.
Also on March 26, Matsui emphasized the importance of public broadcasting in providing essential services during emergencies. She tweeted about leading a letter to FCC Chairman Carr: “Public broadcasting provides lifesaving information in times of crisis (including emergency alerts) and supports educational content that parents nationwide rely on to help their children learn.”
