U.S. Representative Doris Matsui, who has represented California’s 7th district in Congress since 2005, posted a series of critical statements on her social media account regarding recent political events and former President Donald Trump.
On February 25, 2026, Matsui questioned the priorities of a recent political statement, writing, “That didn’t sound like America first to me.” Later that same day, she expressed disappointment with national leadership: “The American people deserve leadership rooted in truth, compassion, and competence. Tonight, they got none of it.”
In another post from February 25, Matsui criticized the perceived beneficiaries of Donald Trump’s presidency: “The only people benefiting from Trump’s Presidency are Trump and his rich Epstein Class friends. It’s clear all he cares about is his wealth and control.”
Doris Matsui has served as the U.S. Representative for California’s 7th District since replacing Bob Matsui in 2005. She was born in Poston, Arizona in 1944 and currently resides in Sacramento at age 78. Matsui earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1966.
