Rep. Doris Matsui, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 7th district since 2005, has recently posted a series of critical statements on her official social media account regarding major national policy decisions and corporate actions.
On March 20, 2026, Matsui criticized the approval of a significant media merger, stating: “The approval of the Nexstar-Tegna merger is an outrageous abuse of authority. Doris Matsui succeeded Bob Matsui in Congress in 2005 and continues to represent her Sacramento-based district. She was born in Poston, Arizona in 1944 and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor’s degree in 1966. At age 78, she remains active both legislatively and publicly through her communications channels.
