Rep. Doris Matsui, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 7th district since 2005, recently posted a series of statements on her social media account addressing federal investment in local initiatives and commenting on national political developments.
On April 2, 2026, Matsui highlighted a significant milestone for Recovery Cafe West Sac: “Recovery Cafe West Sac has grown from a bold idea into an impactful, holistic model for transformational change. Later that day, she addressed recent changes involving Pam Bondi’s tenure as Attorney General: “Pam Bondi’s tenure as Attorney General has been a disgrace to this office and the rule of law. Between covering up the Epstein files and trying to prosecute Trump’s political opponents, her removal was long overdue. But let me be clear: Trump firing Bondi changes nothing. He”.
In another post dated April 2, 2026, Matsui commented on current economic pressures faced by Americans: “Americans are struggling to afford health and childcare, while Trump is admitting he can’t protect Medicare or Medicaid because he is choosing costly, illegal wars instead.”
Doris Matsui has represented California’s 7th District in Congress since succeeding Bob Matsui in 2005. She was born in Poston, Arizona in 1944 and currently resides in Sacramento. Matsui graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1966.
