Rep. Doris Matsui, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 7th district, recently shared her perspectives on various pressing issues through a series of tweets. These posts reflect her concerns regarding decisions and actions taken by prominent figures and institutions.

On February 4, 2025, Rep. Matsui criticized an order from Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth to halt funding for out-of-state travel for female service members seeking reproductive care. She expressed concern that this decision would limit access to necessary healthcare in states with restrictive laws, stating: “This is a cruel attack on service women.”

Later that day, she addressed Elon Musk’s handling of personal data without adequate oversight or transparency. In her tweet, she questioned his intentions and emphasized the lack of justification for such actions: “I will fight with all available avenues to stop this madness.”

On February 5, 2025, Rep. Matsui voiced her opposition to what she described as reckless and illegal actions by President Trump. She highlighted the impact on everyday Americans and Sacramentans while committing to resist these actions alongside her constituents: “Resisting his actions will be a long fight — but I’m committed, and I know you are too.”
