Rep. Doris Matsui, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 7th district since 2005, shared several updates on her social media account on March 17, 2026, addressing issues ranging from international conflict to energy policy and emergency preparedness.

In one post made at 21:40 UTC, Matsui commented on global attitudes toward an ongoing war, writing, “The 31 other countries in NATO want nothing to do with this war. Most Americans don’t want anything to do with it either, and it’s becoming clear that even Trump’s own equally unqualified officials feel the same way. That’s because this war is illegal, unnecessary, and Trump”.

Later that evening at 22:45 UTC, she highlighted California’s efforts in renewable energy and grid reliability during extreme weather events: “We have the solutions to reduce power plant pollution and keep the lights on, and we’re pioneering it in California. Doris Matsui has represented California’s 7th District in Congress since replacing Bob Matsui in 2005. Born in Poston, Arizona in 1944 and currently residing in Sacramento at age 78, she graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in 1966.
