Rep. Doris Matsui, who represents California’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of messages on her official X account addressing legislative activity and community events.
On April 15, Matsui reminded constituents about an important event deadline: “Today is the deadline to submit your piece to the Congressional Art Competition! https://t.co/47xW4T9eyJ”.
The following day, Matsui commented on presidential spending priorities and ongoing foreign policy issues. On April 16, she wrote: “You can tell a lot about a president’s priorities by the way they spend money. Trump’s priorities are crystal clear, and the American people are at the bottom of his list. While he sends his cronies out to dismiss this, his illegal war continues to take money directly out of the https://t.co/jhDg0W8Fmx”.
Later that same day, Matsui addressed recent legislative action in the House regarding Haitian families: “Today, the House chose people over politics. Proving that when we govern for PEOPLE, good things happen.
Protecting Haitian families is about humanity, compassion, and doing what’s right.
Proud to have helped force this vote and proud to stand with @RepPressley in this fight! https://t.co/NFyFKRYALP“.
Doris Matsui has represented California’s 7th District since 2005 after succeeding Bob Matsui in Congress. She was born in Poston, Arizona in 1944 and currently resides in Sacramento. Matsui graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in 1966.
